Hard//hoofd selecteert zorgvuldig uit een oerwoud aan mogelijkheden. In 'hard//hoofd kiest' wordt door de muziek- en beeldredactie twee keer per maand een relatief onbekende muzikant, band of beeldend kunstenaar uitgelicht. Het is een keuze uit het werk van iemand die volgens hard//hoofd het waard is om te volgen.
Deze keer staat Arnar Ásgeirsson in de aandacht. In 2009 afgestudeerd aan de Gerrit Rietveld Academie te Amsterdam.
What are we looking at? "Two drawings of one building from two different perspectives. Most of the things happening in the drawings happened to me in real life. I have seen a lot of walking eggs."
Can you tell something about the making process? "A big part of the process was to lay on my mom's couch in Iceland, reflecting over all the things that happened to me so far in my life. The small part was to draw it."
What fascinates you? "A lot of things fascinate me. Here are some examples- The middle aged art student who lost her balance and fell onto Picasso´s painting in the the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She caused the panting to lose 50% of it´s value, the damage is estimated at 65 million dollars. This can entertain me for hours. The seller Alleytreasures on Ebay, he keeps coming up with good latex molds for the future. Birds, especially ducks that look like people."
Whose work do you admire? "I like my mom's skills and determination. Look at this!"
